Stone J&M Dam Removal, North Troy . Removal of an earthen dam and associated stream and riparian restoration. The dam was built prior to 1940 to support railroad tracks which are no longer present. The goals of the project are improved stream function, flood storage, and habitat in this headwater tributary of the Missisquoi River (“the stream”). The recreated riparian system will include an approx. 6’ wide channel with log and stone grade controls. All material excavated from the dam will be disposed of on the Stone J&M property.
