Demolition of Smokestack Delayed [Updated]

Demolition of the Hooven & Allison Smokestack in Xenia, Ohio tentatively scheduled for Thursday February 20th has been postponed due construction and weather delays caused by snow and frigid temperatures

A new date has not been set. The City will make a formal announcement when a new date has been chosen.

Environmental Management Specialists, Inc. is in overseeing the demolition of the property and Loewendick Demolition is the demolition contractor.

UPDATE: We have learned that they will no longer use explosives, but will be done by wrecking ball.
