Demolition and removal of portions of the existing New Orleans East Hospital. Portions of the project include, but are not necessarily limited to: demolition of the entire buildings on the west side of the complex (these include one, two, three and six story buildings built in 1967 with floors four through six added in the 1980s); selective demolition of miscellaneous canopies, planters, paving and miscellaneous items indicated in the Drawings; removal of desks, furniture, casework, ceilings, light fixtures, flooring and interior partitions in East Tower as indicated on the Drawings (gypsum board partitions at the exterior wall are to remain); construction of weather-resistant exterior wall between remaining East Tower and removed West Towers; concrete topping slab removal on level one of East Tower as well as mechanical and electrical removal on all floors; and pile fabrication and installation for test pile program with actual testing by the Owner.
