I am working on a project in SE Florida which includes demolition of a 53,000 square foot aircraft hanger. The hanger was built in the 1950s, and has rivets connecting the beams together. Total height of the structure is 65 feet, and the ceiling braces are strongly tied together as well. Excluding the sheeting on the outside, does anyone have an idea on the weight of the steel superstructure? No as-builts exist, and estimation so far has been all over the map.

without pictures it's hard to say, but i would say it should be quite easy to calculate! you should come at least 20% near if you go there and measure the sheeting and the beams.
