Tropicana Las Vegas one step closer to demolition with new permits

Published by on

LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – An implosion demolition permit for the Tropicana Las Vegas was officially filed with Clark County Thursday.

The iconic 1950-era hotel first announced plans for a Fall demolition in March and would close its doors on April 2. The county was officially issued a commercial demolition permit in April, alongside efforts to remove asbestos from the property.

The filing requested the implosion of the 22-story Tropicana Club alongside its 22-story Paradise Tower. This will clear the way for the Oakland A’s to begin construction on its planned $1.5 billion ballpark.

County records show demolition crews would move in for blasting on Sept. 30, 2024, and move out on October 8, 2024, if approved.
