According to the Florida Department of Environmental Protection’s Division of State Lands, the building and land became available after the Florida Department of Management Services requested that the properties be converted to surplus from a so-called Florida Facilities Pool.
Online descriptions of the tenants show the building houses the Fort Lauderdale circuit office for the Florida Department of Corrections, the Florida Department of Children and Families adult protection service, and the Juvenile Justice Department.
There are no other state-owned buildings for sale in the downtown Fort Lauderdale area, a state spokeswoman said.
