Despite urgency, the conclusion of the Hard Rock Hotel demolition on Canal Street in New Orleans will last into late summer 2020. Why? Safety. Following the catastrophic collapse in October 2019, the crew is taking all measures to ensure it doesn’t happen again. “It is a painstaking process, but once again the goal is that nobody loses their life, or an injury,” Fire Superintendent Tim McConnell said at a press conference.
