Sealed Bids will be received by the City of New Hope, Minnesota, in the City Hall at 4401 Xylon Avenue North, New Hope, Minnesota 55428 until 10 A.M., CST, Tuesday, January 7, 2014, at which time they will be publicly opened and read aloud for the furnishing of all labor, materials, and all else necessary for the following: Winnetka Learning Center Demolition – City Project No. 911 In general, Work consists of the demolition of the existing building at 7940 55th Avenue North.

The Work will also include the following estimated removals quantities: 2,100 LF Concrete Curb 18 EA Light poles and bases 5,900 SF Concrete Sidewalk 9,200 SY Bituminous Surfacing (Reclaim) 6,000 GAL Underground Storage Tank 200 LF Storm Sewer Pipe Along with hazardous material abatement, miscellaneous sign removals, utility disconnects, private utility terminations, and other removals.

A Mandatory Pre-Bid Meeting will be held on Thursday, December 19, 2013, at 10 A.M., CST, at the Project Site (7940 55th Avenue North, the former Winnetka Learning Center Building).

All Contractors wishing to submit a Bid on this Project must attend the Pre-Bid Meeting. Representatives of Owner and Engineer will be present to discuss the Project. Engineer will transmit to all attendees of record such Addendum as Engineer considers necessary in response to questions arising at the conference. Oral statements may not be relied upon and will not be binding or legally effective.

Bid Security in the amount of 5 percent of the amount of the Bid must accompany each Bid in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders. The Owner reserves the right to retain the deposits of the 3 lowest Bidders for a period not to exceed 60 days after the date and time set for the Opening of Bids. No Bids may be withdrawn for a period of 60 days after the date and time set for the Opening of Bids. The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all Bids, to waive irregularities and informalities therein, and further reserves the right to award the Contract to the best interests of the Owner.
