WATERLOO, Iowa — Demolition of the vacant Crossroads Mall has begun, starting with the Sears Auto Center.
Crews have started tearing down the former auto center building near Bopp Street and Crossroads Boulevard. They have also been making progress inside the mall by removing asbestos.
Demolition of the main mall structure is expected to begin in mid-January.
