Published by on

bandb-wreckingWith a few ceremonial swings of a wrecking ball demolition has finally begun on the former Parmatown Mall Macy’s in Parma, Ohio.

The original store opened in 1960 as May Company, it then became a Kaufmann’s in 1992 before transitioning into a Macy’s in 2006. It’s been vacant since 2012.

The former store encompasses 305,000-square-foot over 4 stories.

A new Dick’s Sporting Goods will be built on the site. Other plans at the new The Shoppes at Parma include Wal-Mart expanding their current location into a Supercenter.

Other stores that will anchor the new property include current tenants J.C. Penny and Marc’s.
