NASA Solicitation: Demolition of the Mate De-mate Device MDD Structure

NASA/DFRC plans to issue an Invitation for Bids (IFB) to DEMOLISH SHUTTLE MATE-DEMATE DEVICE.

The order of magnitude for the procurement is between $500,000 and $1,000,000 and the effort shall be completed within 120 calendar days after notice to proceed.

This procurement is a total small business set-aside.

The NAICS Code and small business size standard for this procurement are 238910 and $14M, respectively.

The anticipated release date of the IFB is on or about 21 Jan 14 with an anticipated offer closing date of on or about 21 Feb 14.

The firm date for receipt of bids or proposals will be stated in the IFB. Drawings will be posted with the solicitation.

All responsible sources may submit a bid which shall be considered by the agency.

The Center Ombudsman for this acquisition can be found at http://prod.nais.nasa.gov/pub/pub_library/Omb.html The solicitation and any documents related to this procurement will be available over the Internet. These documents will reside on a World-Wide Web (WWW) server, which may be accessed using a WWW browser application. Prospective offerors shall notify this office of their intent to submit an offer on or before 7 Feb 14. It is the offeror’s responsibility to monitor the Internet site for the release of the solicitation and amendments (if any). Potential offerors will be responsible for downloading their own copy of the solicitation and amendments (if any).

An organized site visit has been scheduled for: Thursday, 30 January 2014, 10:00 am PST

Participants will meet at: NASA DFRC Visitor’s Center

Site Visit attendees must complete and submit a DFRC Form 725, Visit Request – U.S. Citizen, within four (4) days prior to the site visit to the Contracting Officer. The Site Visit form will be included in the solicitation package.

All contractual and technical questions must be submitted in writing to the point of contact. Telephone questions will not be accepted.
