The most popular shape by far is the pear shape, but we still get the occasional request for round, square, diamond, etc. Guys breaking concrete tend to like the smaller balls (2-4000#) so they can use them with a smaller excavator and tire combination. Actual demo work on bridges or buildings is still being done with the big ones, anywhere from 8-10,000#. Our users' biggest gripe about the old style balls was pins that break or wear, so we've recently modified our pin design to be enclosed in a wear sleeve and replaceable. We'd appreciate any other feedback you guys can provide.
Just found this forum and wanted to let everybody know we're still out here. Seems like I get one phone call a day saying no one makes demo balls anymore. We do and can make any size or shape imaginable for any application -- smaller pear shapes are kept in stock at all times. A recent pic of a larger one is attached.
