Dear Jewell,

We are located in Europe so I would appreciate your help in sending us some pictures of where exactly the camera is positionned on the boom and how the installation is done.

Thank you very much for your help.

Best regards,

Cat.

As far as the orientation of the boom hoist cylinders, we follow what is on the base OEM machine. On the EX 1200's the cylinders are mounted "upside down" on the factory machine. Even though we replace the factory cylinders with larger bore, custom stroke cylinders we mount them upside down on the 1200's because the factory plumbing is all arranged for "reversed cylinders" and it would be a nightmare to try to change. All the smaller Deere/Hitachi's (850 and down) have the cylinders mounted in the more traditional manner. We did a Sennebogen 870 some years ago that had reversed cylinders too. It makes no difference in the lifting power of the cylinders.

Cat,
We have equipped just about every one 60 or so high reach machines we have built with boom mounted cameras. The technology has really improved over the past 10years to where they are really nice to have. We also sell them as kits, so they are all over the place in many different applications. Let me know if there is a goegraphic region that you would like to see one and I can recommend some companies.

The ZX 800, Deere 850D and EX 1200 are all between 95 and 100 foot of reach and capable of carrying heavy tools at angles between 25-45 deg. The specification also called for the use of pin grabber couplers which adds weight and distance to the tool load. Each were designed to accept a minimum of a 20 foot boom extension in the future (for smaller tool operation).
