Here you will find a shorter description of the U17 as well as an image of the new product.
Kubota introduces the U17 zero-tail swing compact excavator, delivering maneuverability, power and performance even in the most confined work spaces. The U17 provides increased hydraulic flow for fast, responsive operation and heightened traction force for tough backfilling jobs, as well as rubber tracks for a smoother ride and lower ground pressure. On the U17, productivity is maximized with a bucket close to the blade while operator costs are reduced with features like a digital control panel. With a strong 17-horsepower engine, the Kubota U17 is small in stature but packed with power and performance.
"Whether digging pools, lead-ins, or underground utilities, the U17 is the perfect fit for big jobs in small places," says Keith Rohrbacker, Kubota product manager. "This machine was designed with features and performance-upgrades that will appeal to operator productivity and comfort."
The Strength of a Big Machine in a Compact Excavator
In addition to superior horsepower and performance, the Kubota U17 delivers low noise and vibration levels, exceptional fuel efficiency and compliance with the Environmental Protection Agency's 2008 Tier IV emissions regulations. The Kubota D902-E3 engine teams up with an 11.9-gallon-per-minute hydraulic pump capacity to boost versatility for a wide range of tasks. For additional efficiency, the dozer arms on the U17 are extended to optimize clearance between the dozer and bucket, making soil and rock collection close to the machine simple and efficient. The U17 has plenty of power for heavy loads and tough excavating jobs with a quick coupler and bucket breakout force of more than 3,000 lbs. And, with a compact three-foot, three-inch overall width, the U17 is small enough to fit through almost any gate - and with the machine's hydraulic, expandable variable width tracks - the U17 offers balance, stability and functions "big enough" to get the job done.
Safe and Comfortable Operation with Easy Maintenance
From safety features to enhanced operator comfort, the Kubota U17 is equipped to be efficient and productive. The Roll-Over Protection Structure (ROPS) canopy ensures safety and security on the job. Dual- flange track rollers reduce de-tracking on slopes during operation, while the tie-down rings provide a convenient way to transport the U17 safely when it is not in use. The high-back suspension seat provides optimum comfort while the two-speed travel switch on the dozer lever allows for faster operation while freeing up space on the floor for a wider foot area and lessened operator fatigue. With protected, top-mounted, boom-cylinder, motor hoses and front hoses, repair costs are reduced and durability is improved. Operators can also trust the advanced technology of the U17's digital control panel that provides alerts when maintenance is due.
Working Range and Optional Implements
The Kubota U17 has an 11-foot, seven-inch maximum digging height, and an eight-foot maximum dumping height to reach elevations needed for virtually any job. Combine that reach with a seven-foot, seven-inch maximum digging depth and the U17 is as versatile as it is powerful. To further worksite versatility, optional implements for the Kubota U17 include buckets, spark arrest muffler, travel alarm, hydraulic auger, canopy lights, quick coupler and hydraulic hammer.
