Caterpillar Inc., Peoria, Ill., introduced new equipment at the ISRI Annual Convention & Exposition held recently in New Orleans.

The 262C model skid steer loader, with its vertical lift design, offers extended reach and lift height for quick and easy truck loading.

The machine also has a sealed and pressurized cab option, which is designed to provide a cleaner and quieter operating environment. Seat mounted adjustable joystick controls and available air rise seat also help enhance operator comfort, according to the manufacturers.

The 262C is powered by an 85-hp Cat engine, and a high flow XPS hydraulic system is available for applications that demand maximum hydraulic work tool performance.

In addition, Cat has introduced the M325D MH and the M325D LMH Wheel material handlers. The machines are designed to meet the production requirements of the scrap, demolition and bulk materials handling industries.

The new models, which replace the M325C MH and M325C LMH, feature a new Cat engine with more power and lower emissions than their predecessors, as well as stronger hydraulic performance with a modulated grapple rotate function, and a new cab and operator station.

The M325D MH is equipped with four sets of dual 12.00-20 solid rubber tires and has an operating weight of 68,059 pounds. The M325D LMH has an operating weight of 77,737 pounds and is equipped with four single 16.00-25 solid rubber tires. Optional pneumatic tires are available.

The new material handlers are powered by the Cat C7 Engine with ACERT technology. The engine meets EPA Tier 3 and EU Stage IIIa exhaust emissions standards.

The hydraulic system on the new models is designed specifically to handle the requirements of demanding material handling applications. As with the previous models, the D-Series models use a hydraulic cross sensing system that can maximize hydraulic power when needed for faster implement speeds.

A new cab and 8.5-foot hydraulic cab riser promote efficient operation by providing improved comfort and visibility. All glass is affixed directly to the cab, eliminating window frames. An easy-to-open, split front windshield provides the operator the ability to meet preferences and operating conditions.
