scrap prices have been moving up a little . No. 1 is being quoted at over $200 and lite iron is at around $150 here in the northeast

we have just been spoiled for the past 5 years or so... Last year at this time was the highest I have ever seen it at $650 a ton for prepared plate and structural and the stuff....

heck i hope folks thought some thing was up when tin/sheet metal was worth a few hundred dollars a short ton and they were buying #2 copper at the #1 price

the scrap prices are quite scrapped at the moment... even b-class copper is worthless Surprised
at the moment we pile up metall from our demolition sites on our yard, in hope of higher prices in the near future.
wonder how many demo contractors have made big losses because of the radical price dropp? in the worst case some contractor will go bankrupt because of relying to much on the resale value of scrap, the guys with well made contract papers will walk out fine.
