Just finished a job. 3858 sq/ft house built in 1890's. House had 6 double stack chimneys. We recovered about 80% of the brick they were easy to chip and stack b/c they had sand morter. We salvaged 18 pallets and we recovered all of the heart pine siding, 4x4, 2x4, 2x6, 2x8 and 6x6 beams. Some of the 6x6 beams had extensive rot and either carpenter ant or termite damage so those went to the dump. We got $1.25 per bf and $100 per pallet which is 500 brick per pallet wholesale. We bid $2200 to take it down and made 7800 on salavagle materials. We also salavaged the tin roof, wiring, copper piping, cast iron tubs, cast iron drains and sold the leaded glass to a remodeling company. We also salvaged about a pallet of Augusta block which I saved b/c I'm doing a brick paver patio in the back of my house which will look good when I'm done.
