YAKIMA COUNTY: Yakima County Courthouse Old Jail Demolition and Utilities Rerouting. The work of this Project will entail coordination for the relocation of the primary power transformer and gas meter assembly, and the rerouting of associated onsite utilities to accommodate the demolition work. The work will also entail hazardous materials abatement, demolition of the concrete and masonry four story plus basement 1941 old jail structure and associated mechanical and electrical systems equipment, backfilling the hole vacated by the demolished structure, partial demolition of an elevated precast concrete structure located adjacent to the old jail facility, and new pavement and parking lot striping. Select building materials are required to be removed and salvaged for reinstallation near the completion of the project. The work will also entail the removal of the existing emergency power generator and fuel tank, and relocation of select electrical gear. All work of the project will be required to be executed in a mandatory 3-phase plan. All Bidders are advised that the work will be executed while the balance of the courthouse building will remain fully occupied. Because of the potential impact to daytime court operations by noisy construction activities, all demolition work and noise from heavy construction equipment will be required to be performed during other than normal daytime business hours and/or on weekends. This work time limitation is also required for utility work within the Owner�s staff parking lot.
