Demolition & Abatement University of Washington Foster School of Business. Hoffman Construction Company of Washington has been selected as the Design-Build for the University of Washington Foster School of Business – Founders Hall being performed for the University of Washington (“Owner”) and has been approved to utilize an alternative subcontractor selection process per RCW 39.10.385 for the work described herein. The University of Washington Foster School of Business – Founders Hall Project will design and construct a new 96,000 square foot building to replace Mackenzie Hall. The program will be a mix of instructional, academic, and administrative spaces to include classrooms, offices, team and meeting rooms, workshop space, and large common areas. The new facility will house the Foster School PhD program, the Center for Leadership and Strategic Thinking, and the Foster School Advancement and Alumni teams. The Foster School of Business is currently housed in five facilities on the central University of Washington Seattle campus: PACCAR Hall, Dempsey Hall, Bank of America Executive Center (BAEC), Mackenzie Hall, and the Foster Business Library. The construction of PACCAR Hall in 2010 and Dempsey Hall in 2012 has proven transformative to successfully recruiting the highly qualified faculty and students who have driven the Foster School’s rise. The replacement of Mackenzie Hall with a modern, larger building represents the next step of growth for the Foster School on the UW Seattle campus. This bid package includes the demolition and abatement scope of work only. Refer to the RFP for complete submittal requirements and additional information.
