KING COUNTY: Eastside Rail Corridor: Rail Removal and Interim Trail Phase 1. This project provides for the improvement of a section of the Eastside Rail Corridor (ERC) from the Countys ownership in Renton at MP 5.0 (adjacent to the north end of Gene Coulon Park, accessed via Mountain View Avenue N) to Lake Washington Boulevard SE (where the rail corridor crosses at the entrance drive to Newcastle Beach Park in Bellevue); and from SR 520 to 108th Avenue NE in Bellevue (at Kirkland City limits boundary) in King County by removing railroad track (rails and timber ties), restoring the railbed with the placement and compaction of 4-inches of ADA crushed gravel material on top of the railroad ballast, Capping of soils in the Quindell Vicinity, installation of chain link fence, placement of removable bollards and boulders at crossings, erosion control, installation of signage, and other associated work, all in accordance with the attached Plans, these Special Provisions, the Standard Specifications, the KCRDCS, and the APWA/WSDOT Standard Plans for Road, Bridge, and Municipal Construction.
