(Stone) and Winooski Natural Resources Conservation District (WNRCD) is requesting bids for the Hands Mill Dam Removal and Floodplain Restoration at the Jail Branch in Washington, Vermont. The Hands Mill dam breached in July, 2023, but much of the dam and impounded sediment remain. Work includes removal of the concrete and rock/boulder dam, channel realignment and restoration, impounded sediment removal, floodplain creation, site stabilization (plantings, seed, mulch, etc.), riverbank and toe stabilization, installation of rootwad structures, and stream and floodplain restoration along two tributaries to the Jail Branch (East Branch and Unnnamed Tributary)
