Tarleton State University : DEMOLITION SERVICES. General requirements 1. Contractor is responsible for contacting City utilities to retire necessary utilities (natural gas, water, and/or electricity) prior to demolition. 2. Line locates: contractor shall perform line locates as necessary and contact Risk Management or their designated representative prior to digging 3. Demolition and removal of structures shall include removal of the entire identified structure(s) and contents to the construction limits. 4. All concrete slabs, foundations, pilings, driveways, sidewalks, steps, parking areas, and other above ground and underground improvements associated with the structure shall be removed in accordance with the specific project scope of work. 5. All asphalt areas shall be removed, including driveways. 6. Fences shall remain, unless otherwise instructed to remove them. 7. All service utility connections shall be disconnected and capped in accordance with the approved rules and the requirements of the authority having jurisdiction. 8. All septic tanks shall be removed, and the contents disposed of in accordance with appropriate ordinances and regulations. 9. Obtain all permits and licenses as required by federal, local, state, TAMUS and Tarleton rules and regulations. 10. Storage of salvage materials for sale on the work site is prohibited. Signs advertising salvage materials shall not be placed at the work site. 11. Upon demolition and removal from the work site, all demolition materials shall become the property of the contractor. 12. The contractor shall dispose of materials in accordance with all federal, state and local rules, regulations, statutes and ordinances. 13. The contract shall not close any street or divert any traffic without consulting Tarleton. 14. Damage to trees and shrubs shall be kept to a minimum and only greenery which unduly inhibits demolition and disposal may be removed. 15. Contractor is solely responsible for all fees (landfill and permitting fees) associated with the disposal of the debris to be removed from the work site. The contract shall provide a certificate of disposal showing all material was properly disposed of at off project sites satisfactory to Tarleton upon submittal of invoice(s) for payment. Disposal facilities must be properly permitted to accept the applicable demolition and construction debris or waste. 16. All adjacent properties, utilities and structures of any nature whether below or above ground, including but not limited to, structures, streets, curbs, gutters and sidewalks that may be affected by the work shall be protected and maintained by the contractor and shall not be disturbed or damaged during the progress of the work. Provided that the contract disturbs, disconnect or damaged any utility or any structure, all expenses of whatever nature arising from such disturbances or the replacement or repair thereof shall be borne by the contractor
