Toilet Demolition/Site Prep/finish work Eldorado National Forest This contract includes demolition of toilets; removal of existing steps, handrail, and walkways; preparation of excavated holes for off-loading by a separate contractor of pre-fabricated concrete toilets; back-filling, compacting and finish grading of newly installed toilets; construction of retaining walls; minor clearing; and construction of aggregate base surfaced or asphalt concrete surfaced walkways and turnouts. The major work items include demolition and disposal of eleven (11) 2-unit concrete block toilets with concrete vaults, ten (10) 2-unit wood toilets with concrete vaults, three (3) 4-unit wood toilets with concrete vaults, concrete and wood steps, metal handrail and asphalt walkway; construction of 4,888 sq. ft. of aggregate surfaced turnouts, 1,320 sq. ft. of A/C surfaced turnouts, 875 sq. ft. of aggregate base surfaced walkway, 600 sq. ft. of asphalt concrete surfaced walkway clearing of approximately 15 trees and minor amounts of brush; construction of approximately 150 facial sq. ft. of modular concrete retaining wall, preparation of the holes for the installation of ten (10) single unit and eighteen (18) double unit pre-fabricated toilets (off-load into holes will be done by a separate contractor); backfilling, compacting and finish grading of installed toilets and vacated toilet holes. Close coordination between the toilet installer and the Forest Service shall be essential. Scheduling of toilet deliveries and site preparation shall be at the discretion of the Forest Service. Project Location This project encompasses 12 campgrounds and 1 fire lookout within the boundaries of the Eldorado National Forest, Placerville, CA The Government's estimate is: $100,000 and $250,000.
