North Charleston: Site Preparation, Naval Base Terminal; The project includes erosion and sediment control, clearing and grubbing, building abatement and demolition, site demolition, cutting and capping of utilities, utility relocation and installation, pile extraction, processing of demolition debris, excavation, soil de-watering and consolidation system (described further below), embankment fill placement (approximately 5,700,000 cubic yards, of which approximately 4,500,000 cubic yards will be imported by Contractor). Fill material may be dredged from specified locations at the Charleston Ocean Dredged Material Disposal Site (ODMDS) or provided by the Contractor from approved Contractor sources. During construction, the Contractor shall provide equipment and systems to collect and pump all runoff from the site across the Cooper River to the Daniel Island Confined Disposal Facility West Cell. The soil de-watering and consolidation system will consist of placement of a drainage layer, the installation of vertical wick drains and under drains, followed by placement of surcharge embankment fill to consolidate the existing soils. Final surface and slope stabilization will be required which may include seeding and mulching, erosion control blankets or turf reinforced matting. Bids due 10/20
