SC State Ports Authority: Phase 2/3 - Area Demolition, Charleston Naval Base Container Terminal (CNBCT), North Charleston, South Carolina. The work includes the demolition of buildings, pavements and utilities for future development of a container terminal. The work consists of demolition, removal and disposal of: seven (7) main buildings, totaling approximately 70,000 square feet, an additional twenty (20) building foundations, totaling approximately 200,000 square feet, and miscellaneous structures, in entirety; asbestos containing materials within the buildings; the top portion of approximately 2,860 piles supporting the twenty seven (27) building foundations and some utilities; miscellaneous water, sewer, drainage and electrical utility lines and structures above and below ground; stockpiling onsite all Portland cement concrete materials, asphalt pavement, brick and concrete block; and installation of sediment and erosion control measures including silt fences and seeding. The entire project site is approximately 84 acres in total. Alternate Bids will be considered to: 1) Remove all existing piles completely out of the ground and stockpile onsite, in lieu of removing the top portion of the piles only from elevation +6.0 CLW and above. 2) Excavate approximately 70,000 cubic yards of soil material from the Pond Excavation Material Stockpile, within the project limits, transport, spread and grade over the project site Bids due 10/07.
