[FONT=Verdana]Cloud Cap Inn East Wing Restoration, Hood River Ranger District, Mt. Hood National Forest, Hood River County, Oregon. The overall objective of this project is to return that portion of the structure to as close to the original 1889 design as possible. The focus of phase one of the east wing restorations is to restore the east side pavilion on the north side of the main hall and to restore the south wall of the east wing. All work shall conform to the historic restoration/reconstruction guidelines for buildings listed on the National Register of Historic Places as specified in the contract. Work will include, but is not limited to demolition of existing foundation, excavation of crawlspace, construction of new foundation and piers, partial demolition of the existing walls, erection of new walls with Government-furnished logs, placement of new windows provided by contractor, partial removal and replacement of T&G flooring and ceiling where needed with lumber provided by the Government. Construction season at the site is typically July 4 to October 1. The Inn is located at the 6,000? elevation on the north side of Mt Hood, at the end of Forest Road 3512, approximately 45 minutes south of Hood River, Oregon. Preliminary design information was shared at the mandatory Site Visits held in October, 2005. The Government?s Estimate for the Base Item is less than $100,000. The Schedule includes the Base Item plus seven Option Items which will be awarded upon availability of funds. Offers will be evaluated using the best value source selection process.
