[FONT=Verdana]This is a pre-solicitation synopsis for the acquisition of Replace Curtainwall Building 3130 (VOQ 3130 Renovation) for the United States Air Force Academy, located in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The acquisition will require the contractor to provide all labor, materials, transportation, equipment, and supervision to accomplish this project. All work shall be accomplished in accordance with requirements contained in the Drawings and Specifications and the Statement of Work for Construction. This acquisition is for the renovation of both the exterior and interior of three wings of a two-story temporary-living building. This project consists of replacing the existing curtainwall system on the north and south sides of the building with a new curtainwall system employing with current energy standards and current Anti-Terrorism/Force Protection (AT/FP) design standards. In addition, selected restrooms and kitchenettes in several of the suites will be renovated to bring these spaces up to hospitality standards. These renovations require considerable interior finishes and related upgrades as a part of this project. The renovation, consisting of three phases, would be limited to the renovation of one wing at a time. The acquisition is a non-commercial, firm fixed price construction contract with an estimated completion time of 420 calendar days. The magnitude of the acquisition is between $1,000,000.00 and $5,000,000.00. The contract would be awarded to one vendor as a firm-fixed price contract. The project is currently identified as a Straddle 2 (fill or kill) and is an unfunded requirement. The solicitation information will be posted on the electronic Posting System (EPS) at http://www.fbo.gov. Request for proposal FA7000-06-R-0040 and applicable specifications and drawings will be posted on or about 10 July 2006. No hard copies will be available. In accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 19.1405 this acquisition is set-aside for competition among Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses. The small business size standard applicable to this project is $31,000,000.00 and the North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code is 236220. In accordance with DOD policy, all prospective offerors must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) at http://www.ccr.gov.
