Hillsboro: PW-FACILITIES AND FLEET DIVISION HANKS THRIFTWAY DEMOLITION PROJECT. The City of Hillsboro seeks sealed bids from qualified firms able to provide complete demolition, excavation and utility services as follows: The project consists of the removal, as detailed below, of all structures, foundations, and utilities between 6th and 7th Avenues and between S.E. Washington and S.E. Baseline at the site formerly known as Hanks Thriftway. All hazardous material within the building structures will be removed and disposed of under separate contract, prior to the start of demolition. Demo and remove the existing building (approximately 55,125 SF) including all rooftop HVAC, foundations and slab on grade. Excavate and remove sidewalk along the west and south sides immediately adjacent to the structure. Remove concrete and retaining walls at sunken truck dock on the northeast side of the structure, fill with compacted structural fill. All grade level asphalt paving to remain. This includes the asphalt paving at the Northeast corner, adjacent to 7th Avenue and S.E. Washington. All excavated areas are to be filled with compacted structural fill. Cap all storm and sewer lines at excavation limits. Remove gas line to meter at 7th Avenue. Remove and safe-of electrical feed to nearest transformer or cabinet. Remove and cap all water lines. Leave all domestic and landscape water meters in place. Cover entire excavated site with geotextile filter fabric and place 4 of 3/4- compacted rock to grade level. Remove and dispose of Hanks Thriftway monument sign mid-block along S.E. Baseline. Support columns to be cut-off one foot below grade level, fill excavation and remainder of column foundations with compacted gravel to grade.
