Howard Elementary School. Replacement Elementary School for 600 students at the Howard School Site in Eugene. A single general contractor will be selected based on competitive bidding. A construction cost estimate of $23 million was prepared based on the Design Development Documents. The scope includes construction of a new 2 story, steel framed school, demolition of the old school, and construction of site improvements. The District is currently processing a contract to do a site-work phase for this project. The purpose of this phase is to help prepare the site for winter construction. That work will include the construction of a gravel access road, a rock pad for the building site and demolition of two classrooms on the south end of the existing school. Bids due 09/14
