Oakland Bay Bridge demolition

From what we know, the demolition of the bridge is going to be broken down into 3 separate projects, the cantilever section and S-curve, smaller trusses and then the foundation. The total cost will be around $239 million for the demolition.

The 1st phase, the demolition of the cantilever section has already started, California Engineering Contractors along with Silverado Contractors in a joint venture is doing the that portion of the work. The section is expected to take about 3 years from what we have been told.

Now that the bridge is open the bid for engineering to develop the demo bid should come out soon. Until then I doubt there is any substansive information, plenty of conjecture but nothing we have seen as definate.
