Town of Newport Ambargis Mill - EPA Brownfields Cleanup Project The Town of Newport is seeking proposals from Qualified Environmental Professionals (QEPs) for the cleanup and remediation of the Ambargis Mill Brownfield site. The project is funded by a $750,000 U.S. EPA Brownfields Cleanup Grant. It involves the safe removal of hazardous materials, demolition of the remaining mill buildings, and transforming the site into greenspace. The QEP will assist the Town in overseeing the EPA Cooperative Agreement, preparing all necessary technical and regulatory documents, including remedial engineering, design, and bidding, and providing on-site oversight and documentation of cleanup activities.
