Demolition and/or Removal of State Owned Improvements, Rouse Avenue Bozeman; SPECIFICATIONS FOR WORK * Provide all labor, materials, equipment and incidentals necessary for the demolition/removal of the improvements described below: The properties are located along the east side of North Rouse Avenue in Bozeman, MT between Main & Oak Streets.  PARCEL 22: 322 North Rouse Avenue, Bozeman This property has a single family residence, detached garage & shed (see attached site plan). The 830 square foot (sf) wood framed house was built in 1900. It is constructed on a concrete and stone foundation and includes a loft area, attic and unfinished crawl space/basement. The interior walls and ceilings are finished with drywall and wood paneling; and the flooring consists of carpeting, tile and vinyl flooring. The roof is covered with tar paper and composite shingles and exterior walls are finished with aluminum siding. The property also includes two detached structures: a 396 sf garage and a 216 sf shed. Asbestos and Hazardous Substances: The structures were tested on September 6, 2013 for asbestos-containing materials and hazardous substances. There were no asbestos-containing building materials detected in the house, garage or shed. See the attached Asbestos/Hazardous Substances Report dated September 27, 2013 (P22_Asbestos_Report) for additional information.  PARCEL 26: 404 North Rouse Avenue, Bozesman This property has a single family residence with an attached garage (see attached site plan). The northerly portion of the garage encroaches onto the neighboring property. MDT does not have permission to go onto the neighbors property for the removal of the improvements. Therefore, the Contractor must remove the structures on this parcel WITHOUT going onto the neighbors property. The 1,044 sf wood frame house has a 45 sf unheated porch and small partial basement with a dirt floor. The house is constructed on a rubber stone foundation with some areas of wood in contact with dirt. The house was built in 1896 and has been remodeled over the years. The interior walls and ceilings are a combination of pressboard and sheetrock; and the flooring consists of laminate, carpet, wood, vinyl tiles. The roof has wood framed trusses with plywood sheathing covered with asphalt shingles and felt. The exterior walls were covered with transite siding. The attached garage contains 350 sf with a floor that is a combination of concrete and dirt. Asbestos and Hazardous Substances: The structure was tested on August 1, 2013 for asbestos-containing materials and hazardous substances. Asbestos was detected in the transite siding, which contained 20% chrysotile asbestos. On July 24, 2014, MDTs Environmental Services Bureau submitted a Revised Asbestos Inspection Report. Additional testing was done on the exterior windows and it was discovered that the window caulk contained 7% chrysotile asbestos. MDT hired a separate asbestos contractor who has removed the transite siding and exterior windows. Other hazardous substances, such as paints, kerosene, and antifreeze were also removed from the property. See the attached Asbestos/Hazardous Substances Report dated August 21, 2013 (P26_Asbestos_Report) and the Revised Asbestos Inspection Report dated July 24, 2014 (P26_Asbestos_Report_Revised) for additional information.  PARCEL 34: 506 North Rouse Avenue, Bozesman This property has a 560 sf house and a 64 sf wood shed without a foundation (see attached site plan). The house has a full basement and concrete foundation. The house was built in 1900 and in 1970 it was placed on its current concrete foundation. The house is divided into an upstairs apartment and a downstairs apartment with no internal access between the floors. Bids due 10/16
