Woods Hole, Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket Steamship Authority: Woods Hole Ferry Terminal Reconstruction Waterside Estimated Construction Cost: $48,500,000 In general, the work under this contract, performed by a Marine Contractor, will consist of demolition and construction in the northern, central and southern portions of the Terminal Site, and completion of the new Slip 3. The work includes but is not limited to: dismantling and removing the existing ramp, platform and gangway passenger loading/unloading systems north of the existing Slip 1, constructing a temporary ramp, platform and gangway passenger loading/unloading system between existing Slips 1 and 2; rerouting the primary electrical service for the terminal's existing ferry slips; demolition of the foundations of the existing terminal building, the existing transfer bridges, existing dolphins and appurtenant structures at each berth; removal, handling and disposal of impacted soils in accordance with the site's Release Abatement Measure (RAM) Plan; installation and then later removal of temporary dolphins on the north side of existing Slip 1; installation of a new coated steel sheet pile bulkhead across the entire new waterfront edge of the terminal; site utility improvements (sewage, water, storm water management, natural gas, fuel, electrical and telecommunications); removal and reconstruction of vessel shore side utilities; regrading and repaving along the new bulkhead; dredging and disposal of material around the waterfront area of the site; installation of three new relocated ferry slips; installation of two new pipe pile supported concrete access ramps and concrete piers over the water to service the relocated slips; installation of coated, large diameter steel pipe mono piles for berthing dolphins at the new slips and much more as further described within the Invitations for Bids specifications.
