Demolition/ Deconstruction of the Fibermark Building & redevelopment of site project and necessary site remediation related to said demolition/deconstruction, 1 Canal Street, also known as the "Fibermark Building" South Hadley, Massachusetts 01075. The intent of this Request for Proposals (RFP) is to provide for the demolition/ deconstruction and removal, as specified, of building located at 1 Canal Street, South Hadley, Massachusetts 01075 in a manner satisfactory to the Town of South Hadley and in accordance with all applicable state, local and federal laws, rules and regulations. The Town is looking to offer the land to the successful bidder for redevelopment within the current zoning regulations and will be subjected to the normal process for construction. Therefore, the Town expects that the bidders will take that into consideration when submitting their cost for demolition/ deconstruction. The development value as an offset, equal, greater or less than the cost of demolition should be clearly expressed in the submittal. It should be noted that the as part of the development the northeast corner of the property fifty feet along Canal Street and the length of West Main to High Street will be excluded from any structures that may impede sight distances. RFP procedures shall be in accordance with the provisions of M.G.L Chapter 149, Section 44A through Section 44J, inclusive, and Chapter 30, Section 39M, as amended. In order to be eligible and responsible to bid on this project, a contractor must have all related licensure and/or certification related to demolition/deconstruction, construction, site remediation or other technical skills appropriate for this task and/or required Bids due 01/09/14
