Orange Line Rail Car Disposal. MBTA seeks qualified Contractor to load, transport, and dispose of 120 Orange Line Rail Cars over a 12-month period. Scrap and waste materials, Metal waste scrap and by products .The MBTA is aware of the following components that contain hazardous materials. The flooring contains non-friable asbestos.The fuse panels contain asbestos embedded in epoxy.The batteries are Ni-Fe.The vehicle outer shell may contain lead paint. The base order contract shall be for the removal and disposition of 30 Orange Line No.12 rail vehicles. The initial 20 vehicles are staged and ready for removal. However, the Authority will continue the process of retiring vehicles until the entire 120 vehicle fleet has been disposed. Retired vehicles will be available for removal in increments of up to 30 cars. Contractors shall include in their bid packages the pricing for the removal of the additional 90 vehicles
