Newton: Countryside Road Tank Decommissioning. The Work under this contract generally consists of the complete dismantling and removal of the Countryside Road elevated water storage tank in Newton, Massachusetts, including concrete footings to pieces less than 3 inches in size, removal and disposal of rebar, removal and disposal of the existing concrete vault at the tank site along with backfilling and grading at the vault location, environmental protection, site improvements including backfilling and grading, removal and proper disposal of lead-contaminated soil from the Countryside Road tank site, removal and disposal of anchor bolts, removal and transportation of fencing and vault equipment, removal of 16-inch tee and installation of spool piece of 16-inch ductile iron pipe and two 16-inch couplings, capping and/or plugging of pipes and conduits to 5 feet below grade, and obtaining and paying all costs for State and local permits requiredfor the project, and general site clean-up.
