The intent of this contract is to completely renovate the public lobby and entrance to the Gerald R. Ford Federal Building & U.S. Courthouse, 110 Michigan Street, NW, Grand Rapids, MI 49503. The scope of work includes three phases. Phase 1 shall consist of asbestos abatement; phase 2 shall consist of demolition, renovation, and enlargement of the South entry to the building; and phase 3 shall consist of the demolition and renovation of the North entry. In general, the exterior work will involve the installation of a new canopy system and glazed vestibules, and the replacement of existing storefront assemblies. The interior work will consist of a reconfigured security station, glazed partitions, new signage, replacement of the ceiling system, electrical upgrades and modifications, and new heating and air conditioning systems. The total performance period for this requirement is 181 days. Phase 1 completion time is 30 days, phase 2 completion time is 106 days, and phase 3 completion time is 45 days. The estimated range for this project is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. This procurement is unrestricted in accordance with the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program and open to all business concerns. NAICS is 236220 with a size standard of $31 million. This is negotiated, best value procurement. Proposals will be evaluated on past performance and price. The solicitation will be available on or about January 10, 2008 (actual date for receipt of proposals will be stated in the solicitation). A pre-proposal conference is tentatively scheduled for January 24, 2008 (actual information will be contained in the solicitation). The solicitation will be available for download through the Federal Technical Data Solution (FedTeDS) website (fedteds.gov). All interested vendors must register with FedTeDS and registration requires that the following information be provided: (1) Central Contractor Registration (CCR) Marketing Partner Identification Number (MPIN), (2) DUNS Number or CAGE Code, (3) Telephone Number and (4) E-mail address. Offerors will be responsible for downloading the solicitation and for monitoring FedBizOpps and FedTeDS for amendments and/or additional information.
