The Corps of Engineers-Chicago District issues a Pre-solicitation Notice for its Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore Wastewater Treatment Plant Demolition Project; Site location: Portage, Indiana. The work will consist of removing all man-made items from the site except those, such as the sheet pile wall, which are used for erosion control and channel stabilization. The contractor will be responsible for removing and disposing of the entire treatment plant, steel and concrete buildings, concrete tanks, pumps, process equipment, buried and above ground pipes, electrical equipment, asbestos containing materials, non-asbestos pipe insulation, vaults, outfall pipe and headwall, fencing, and miscellaneous metal debris will be removed from the land and disposed of in a proper manner.
