St Pete Beach: Demolition of Police Department Building. The City of St. Pete Beach disbanded the Police Department several years ago in favor of contracting with Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office to provide law enforcement in our City. As a result, the City has elected to demolish the existing Police Department and jail building located at 200 76th Avenue, adjacent to the Community Center and Public Services Building.
