NASA/GRC plans to issue a Request For Proposal for demolition of the Altitude Wind Tunnel at GRC. The demolition includes the structure and concrete piers and foundations. Relocation of active piping utilities and installation of a new electrical transformer. The order of magnitude for the procurement is $3.5 M and the effort shall be completed within 300 calendar days after notice to proceed. The NAICS Code and small business size standard for this procurement are 238910 and $13M, respectively. The procurement will be conducted under full and open competition. The anticipated release date of the RFP is on or about August 1, 2006 with an anticipated offer closing date of on or about august 31, 2006. The firm date for receipt of proposals will be stated in the RFP. Drawings will be available from a local vendor. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency. An ombudsman has been appointed -- See NASA Specific Note "B". The solicitation and any documents related to this procurement [with the exception of the drawings] will be available over the Internet. These documents will reside on a World-Wide Web (WWW) server, which may be accessed using a WWW browser application.
