The FAA is seeking to pre-qualify general contractors for solicitation and award of project for Demolition, Dismantling and Site Restoration of the "old' Airport Traffic Control Tower located at the Fort Wayne International Airport, 11105 W. Perimeter Rd., Fort Wayne, IN. Work includes but is not limited to: 1. Dismantling, demolition, removal and legal disposal of an Airport Traffic Control Tower building consisting of an approximately 90 feet tall steel frame structure (approx. 30' x 30' footprint) with metal siding, and a steel framed glass cab. Approximate lot where building is located is 1 acre and includes parking and lawn area. 2. Removal of building foundations to a minimum depth of 36 inches. 3. Removal and legal disposal of all electrical and mechanical systems within the building including an engine generator and elevator. 4. Removal, abatement, and legal disposal of all asbestos containing and hazardous materials. (Report of asbestos and hazardous material locations will be provided by the FAA.) 5. Removal and legal disposal of all surrounding structures including storage shed, fuel tank, septic tank, light poles and fixtures; including foundation to a minimum of 36 inches below grade. 6. Removal and legal disposal of approximately 800 square yards of 4" bituminous parking lot and 4" base course. 7. Removal and legal disposal of concrete curb and sidewalk within parcel. 8. Disconnecting and capping of all utilities. 9. Backfill, grading, seeding and clean-up of the entire parcel. The estimated performance time is negotiable with an anticipated completion date of Spring 2008. The procurement has an estimated value of between $500,000.00 and $1,000,000.00.
