VALLEY CENTER MUNICIPAL WATER DISTRICT: Oak Glen Reservoir Demolition Project. The project generally consists of the removal and disposal of a 55-foot diameter by 25-foot tall (base to roof) 0.42 million gallon above ground bolted steel potable water reservoir, above ground and portion of below ground piping. The contractor shall remove and dispose of the interior/exterior ladders and associated brackets, tabs and all other components, rafters, central vent, overflow pipe and other miscellaneous material as shown on the plans. Existing above grade inlet piping, 10-inch altitude valve and 10-inch gate valves shall be removed with valves returned to the District. A 10-inch blind flange (150 lb) shall be installed at the existing above grade flange. Portion of 10-inch below grade overflow piping and 10-inch valve shall be removed up to the tee with a 10-inch blind flange installed. Existing 12-foot wide AC driveway and portion of landscaping shall be removed and irrigation piping and heads relocated. Driveway shall be widened to 16-feet with new AC Pavement over native, including slurry seal. Existing 6-foot wide swing gates and portion of existing chain link fence shall be removed and (2) 8-foot wide swing gates and posts furnished and installed. Import of ¾" gravel will be required to replace 2-inch (T) of oiled sand and 2-inch (T) section of gravel under existing reservoir. An existing electrical cabinet and chain link fence enclosure shall be removed and disposed.
