Rose Valley Station Decommissioning - The intent of this contract is to secure services for the demolition and removal of facilities at the Rose Valley Station on the Los Padres National Forest. A base bid is for the demolition of structures. An optional bid item for abondoning 3 wells. The work includes furnishing all labor, equipment, materials and supervision to demolish and dispose of the foundations to their complete depths, footings, concrete walkways leading to individual facilities, septic systems, LPG tanks, above ground fuel tanks, well pumps, 50,000 gallon water tank, fencing, pipe barriers, filling in channels, and other site specific demolition. The Contractor shall provide soil over the demolition site to match the existing surrounding grade, and grade any disturbed areas with an emphasis on proper drainage. All work activities shall have minimal impact on the site, including vegetation. All buildings and portions of buildings become property of the Contractor who may salvage for future use any portions deemed salvageable. All demolition materials must be removed from the site and disposed of either via salvage, recycling or disposal off Forest Service lands. Work also includes recycling or disposal of refrigerators, stoves and other items from the mess hall; recycling or disposal of items in the warehouse, a bone-yard in the Northwest corner of the site, and miscellaneous items in the structures and on site. A weather station and the adjacent fencing on the North section of the property shall remain, and additional fencing shall be installed to completely surround the weather station. The Contractor shall carefully examine the existing conditions and information, shall become familiar with the nature and location of the work, the conformation of the ground slopes and terrain, the nature of the soil and subsoil conditions, nature and extent of the materials that will be encountered during the decommissioning operations and any existing site conditions that may effect the project, prior to the beginning of work. An environmental assessment to test for lead-based paint, asbestos containing materials and other hazardous waste contained in/on the buildings has been completed. Reports are incorporated into the specifications. The following is a list of the facilities to be demolished. Bid Structure, Square Feet-Base Office 3270, Mess Hall 4196, Barracks (4) 1176 ea, Generator Bldg 754, Head/Boiler Room 2160, Fuel Storage Tank Shed unknown sq ft., Warehouse 3000, Storage Building 980, Pumphouse 48, Trailer Pads (2) helipads, 50,000 gallon water tank. Bid Option 1 Abandon 3 Wells. The price range is between $500,000 and $1,000,000. The project is located at the Rose Valley Station on the Los Padres National Forest. Travel 15 miles north along State Higheway 33 from the junction of State Highway 150 at Ojai, California, thence 3 miles east along Forest Road 7N03 to the station. Bids due 06/04
