PARTIAL DEMOLITION OF NORTH FIELD AIR TRAFFIC CONTROL TOWER OAKLAND INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT OAKLAND. The Work of this 150 calendar day project consists, in general, of furnishing all labor, materials, appliances, tools, equipment, transportation, services and supervision required to partially demolish the North Field air traffic control tower and construct a new roof on remaining ground level structure, and to perform all associated Work, all in accordance with the Contract Documents. The Engineer's estimate for this project is $650,000. A California Class A is required to bid this Contract. Joint ventures must secure a joint venture license prior to Award of this Contract. The contractor performing the demolition Work (whether the prime contractor or a subcontractor) must hold a Class C-21 contractor's license. The portion of the Work entailing handling of contaminated material including abatement, removal, or disposal of any asbestos-containing and lead-containing materials may not be performed by the prime contractor, even if the prime holds the applicable license and environmental certifications for the Work. That portion of the Work must be performed by a subcontractor or subcontractors holding the required license and certifications (asbestos certification and hazardous substance removal certification, etc.). The subcontractor or sub-contractors performing contaminated material abatement, removal, handling, and disposal Work must not perform any other Work on the project. This contract is subject to prevailing wage provisions, as specified in Document 00100, Invitation to Bid, and Document 00200, Instructions to Bidders, of the Project Manual Bids due 04/30
