SAN DIEGO UNIFIED PORT DISTRICT: SOUTH CAMPUS DEMOLITION PHASE 4A. The Scope of work for this project include removing the existing improvements on an approximately 19-acre site north of J Street, east of Marina Parkway and west of the SDG&E transmission easement in Chula Vista. The following are the major summary of work: (1) Removing, stockpiling, and disposal of the existing improvements, in their entirety, including asphalt pavement, concrete slabs, reinforced concrete foundations and slabs; piles, utilities, storm drains, an existing stockpile of concrete and asphalt, and unsuitable soil, (2) Auger drilling and placement of cement bentonite slurry following pile removal, (3) Handling, transporting and disposal of demolition waste at a certified landfill, including segregation of materials for testing and temporary stockpiling, (4) Grading and compacting the site, and application of polymer soil solidifier, (5) preparation and implementation of Materials Management and Disposal Plan, including implementation of practices and procedures to manage construction and demolition materials, properly dispose of waste materials, safely handle hazardous wastes, and properly control debris to reduce dust throughout the site, (6) Preparing and implementing demolition work plan.
