Mountain View: DEMOLITION OF VARIOUS BUILDINGS AND STRUCTURES AT TWO SITES, PROJECTS 15-50 AND 13-40. The work to be performed under this contract includes, but is not limited to: hazardous material abatement, building demolition, removal and capping of utilities, small tree and other vegetation removal, protection of trees, filling the void created by the demolition with clean import fill, grading and compaction of ground as required, disposal of excess materials, and doing other incidental work as necessary to complete the project as required. The buildings to be demolished are located at two City-owned sites in close proximity to each other. Both sites will be used for future City parks space after demolition. The buildings to be demolished are scattered throughout the land at different locations and are surrounded by mature trees, which need to be saved. The demolition work at 2254 Wyandotte Street involves removal of a residential house, garage, kennels, workshop, storage shed, fences, concrete, brick, and all miscellaneous contents and materials as shown on the plan under Project 15-50. Removal of trees and roots are included as Alternate Bid items. Similarly, the work at 771 N. Rengstorff Avenue involves demolition of a residential house, a shed, and removal and capping of any unwanted utilities as shown on the plans under Project 13-40. Project staging area and parking for contractor’s use are limited to the property boundaries. Contractor’s attention is directed to the following restrictions for parking and use of construction staging areas at Rengstorff and Wyandotte Street. Rengstorff Avenue is a busy street with constant vehicular traffic throughout the day. Backing and entering the site may be challenging. Contractor shall use flagmen, warning lights, and cones to control and direct the traffic to not impact drivers, bicyclists and pedestrians using this busy street. The Contractor shall be responsible for properly securing the project sites at all times.
