Hayward: 21st Century Library and Community Learning Center and Heritage Plaza Arboretum Project. Project Description: The work consists, in general of a 3-story new library building (58,000 SF) and its related site work. The project will be constructed in two (2) phases. Phase 1 includes construction of the new Net Zero Energy library building and building systems, library site work, Municipal garage improvement (stairs, new elevator, photovoltaic systems, plumbing, stormwater collection) and C Street improvement (utilities, lighting, streetscape, traffic signal modification). Phase 2 includes demolition of the existing library building and plaza site elements for the construction of the plaza site (landscaping, irrigation, civil, utilities, lighting, rainwater catchment and cistern system) and other work required by the drawings and specifications.
