Work will be at the VA Medical Center located at 500 West Fort Street Building 77 in Boise Idaho. This project will involve asbestos flooring abatement; removal of existing carpeting and wall base; floor preparation to accept new flooring material; Contractor to install VA supplied new carpeting and carpet base, sheet vinyl and rubber base; painting walls and doors; providing and installing ceiling tiles. It is anticipated that work will be done after hours and on weekends. Areas of work will be vacated for rapid completion of the project. The areas involved in this project are Rooms 212, 212A, 212B, 212C, 212D, 212E, 207D, 207C, 207E in Building 77 (See Flooring Layout Drawings when solicitation is posted). 1.The tasks involved are the following; a.Remove all existing carpeting and base from all halls and common areas and offices in Rm. 212, 212A, 212B, 212C, 212D, 212E, 207D, 207C in Building 77. b.Asbestos abatement in all existing floor tile and mastic from all halls and common areas and offices in Rm. 212, 212A, 212B, 212C, 212D, 212E in Building 77. c.Prep floors in above rooms where carpet is removed, prep work to include floating any floors and junctions of rooms and corridor, if floors require leveling, skim coat floor with Ardex feather finish. d.Install new carpeting and 4 carpet base in rooms 212, 212A, 212B, 212C, 212D, 212E. e.Install sheet vinyl and 6 rubber base in rooms 207C, 207D f.Painting all Walls and Doors. g.Provide and install new ceiling tiles. 2.Install Flooring Install Carpet, Lifelong Backing, Sheet Vinyl, Wall Base, Johnsonite 6 Rubber Base. 4.Paint all walls in Food and Nutrition Offices and Common Area. 5.Paint all walls and ceiling in Kitchen Office and Break Room. 6.Paint all doors. 7.Replace door hinge screws. 8.Replace all 2x4 ceiling tiles with matching tiles 9.Work to be completed in after 5:00PM until 6:00AM and weekend hours. 10.Provide transition strips in areas with transition changes. 11. Remove all debris, remnants etc., vacuum with HEPA filter and clean up job site at the end of each workday. 12.All supply and return HVAC grills shall be sealed to prevent contamination. Wrap and seal all wall and ceiling devices. 13.Coordinate all work with COTR or POC for fire alarm shut down, etc. A site visit will be scheduled for 10 February at 10:00AM meeting at Building 50 at the VA Campus, with bids due to the Contracting Officer on or about 17 February 2010.
