Wenden: CALL FOR BIDS CITY OF PHOENIX PARCEL 308-06-005C, FORMER MANGANESE ORE SITE, WENDEN, AZ DESIGN-BID-BUILD. The City of Phoenix is seeking a qualified environmental remediation contracting firm to perform the project listed below. SCOPE OF WORK Work for this project consists of the excavation and disposal of approximately 14,840 tons of non-hazardous soil containing arsenic, lead, manganese, and thallium; replacing the excavated soil with clean imported fill; demolition and disposal of approximately 495 tons of existing concrete structures within and adjacent to excavation areas; and general site cleanup activities. Waste characterization will be required to confirm the non-hazardous nature of all materials for disposal. Work also includes excavation around the foundations of existing concrete structures and potholing at twenty locations to depths of between three to six feet to facilitate soil sampling (to be completed by others). The site is a former manganese ore processing facility owned by the city and located in La Paz County, Arizona. Special licensing is required through the Arizona Registrar of Contractors for the Contractor performing the Work. There is no Small Business Enterprise goal requirement for this project.
