The U. S. Department of Commerce, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, intends to procure construction services for the Asbestos Abatement and Plumbing Renovation at the Atlantic Oceanographic and Meteorological Laboratory (AOML) at Miami, Florida. The Contractor shall be required to furnish all labor, material, equipment and each and every item of expense for the installation. This project includes a Base Bid and three Option Item Bids. The Base Bid consists of Asbestos Abatement and Replacement of all galvanized domestic water piping with new copper piping. The Contractor shall remove existing finishes to access all piping and replace with new finishes to match existing once the piping is replaced. Bid Option One consists of architectural finish and repair and ADA repairs as identified in the drawings. Bid Option Two consists of architectural repairs for asbestos plumbing and additional ADA repairs and other miscellaneous items. Asbestos related electrical and heating ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) repair as identified in the drawings. And, Bid Option Three consists of additional architectural finish plumbing repair and more ADA repairs as identified in drawings. The period of performance shall be 270 calendar days from the date of the notice to proceed. This will be a firm-fixed price contract. This is a total small-business set aside. NAICS code 236220 applies. Estimated construction cost is between $500,000.00 and $1,000,000.00. Solicitation Number WC1330-07-RB-0020MLW with specifications and bid documents will be available on or about June 1, 2007. All responsible sources may submit a bid which shall be considered by the agency. The Central Region Acquisition Division requires that all contractors doing business with this Acquisitions Office must be registered with the Central Contractor Registry (CCR) and Online Representations and Certifications Application (ORCA). No award can be made unless the vendor is registered in CCR.
